Royal Doulton 'Janet' Figurine Repair
The Royal Doulton 'Janet' figurine, a beloved design by the eminent Doulton artist Leslie Harradine, recently underwent a museum-standard restoration. This porcelain figure, measuring a compact 6.25 inches (15.88 cm) tall, presented a repair challenge due to its small size and the precise nature of the damage.
The injury was a straightforward break to the neck. Despite the clean nature of the fracture, the repair required meticulous attention, particularly in the subsequent colour-matching process. Our expert restorer took great care to seamlessly blend the repair with the original hand-painted colours around the neckline. The successful restoration has returned 'Janet' to her former, flawless glory. This popular model, which features the Royal Doulton stamp and the model number HN 1537 on its base, enjoyed a long production run from 1932 to 1995.
